The country home of Arabella Lennox-Boyd in north Lancashire, England.
The major redesign and development of this large property was commenced
on 1980. The site contains many features: parkland; an entrance forecourt;
terraced gardens; a series of hedged coloured themed gardens and herbaceous
borders; a redesigned lake; a bog and lakeside garden; a wild garden;
a large terraced kitchen garden;
a nuttery and orchard; a woodland
garden. Over the years the site has been redrained and supplied with
water and electricity. New paths have been constructed. The renewed
lake has been puddled with clay, the stone terraces constructed by
local specialists and contractors. Bespoke furniture, seating areas,
gates and a bridge over the Artle Beck to our design feature throughout
the gardens. We have also produced maintenance and management documents
and continue to oversee the development of this exciting and well-known
garden. The garden provides the practice with hands on experience
of how to manage a large property which contains most features of
horticulture and design. |
