Designing Gardens
Designing Gardens, published by Frances Lincoln, with photography by Andrew Lawson, explores my principles and theories on design and the landscape. Both inspirational and practical, it is a portfolio of my career as a garden designer over the past thirty years, looking at examples of my work all over the world. From town gardens in Paris to a roof garden in London, country gardens in Barbados, the UK and throughout Europe.

Traditional English Gardens
This book celebrates the English style in twenty-eight gardens in the National Trust’s care. The gardens are a product of many influences—countryside, climate and a passion for plants. These diverse gardens are beautifully represented, striking a balance between Italianate style and the Robinsonian wilder garden. Traditional English Gardens is published in association with the National Trust, with photography by Clay Perry. |

Private gardens of London
Famous for its leafy parks, London is also filled with a spectacular array of hidden gardens. In Private Gardens of London, with photography by John Miller, I take you into thirty-nine of London’s most interesting private gardens, some of which I have designed myself. From low-maintenance to more labour-intensive schemes, I explore each garden’s history, the owners' joys and frustrations and, of course, an exciting range of plants. |
